Every once in a while I like to dip my toe into the waters of the blogosphere. I found this cute website named RunToTheFinish, which focuses on running and living in a holistic manner. The writer has encouraged her readers to take part in her monthly personal challenges, and this month’s is to do at least one spontaneously fun thing per day. This is such a great idea, especially coupled with the springtime air outside, that I decided to sign up to do it too! Yesterday Bryan and I made a two-course fondue dinner! We enjoyed the fun of cooking on the table, and, of course, playing with our food!
Here’s the link to the April Fun Challenge. Enjoy this month!
Freddie and I have wanted to update our study for quite a while now – since we moved in to this place, there’s been talk about redoing our study. Bryan considers it his ‘man cave’ and claims he ‘allows’ me to have a desk in there. However, this weekend, the TABLES have turned! We purchased new desks and a bookshelf from Ikea, and I am proud to say I have the larger BATTLE STATION (ie, desk!). Take a look!
Do you know what time it is?
Austin hosted its very first BEERFEST this afternoon, complete with at least 50 local and national vendors!
The crowds assembled at the Travis County Expo Center this sunny Saturday afternoon for the rumor of alcohol!
The boys were determined to investigate this new wonderland of sorts. While we all did have fun, the festival showed the pains of its infancy: There was only one, unneccesarily long line to get in the gate which was supposed to service upwards of fifteen THOUSAND people. Once we were granted admittance, samples were the size of a shot glass, and any actual pint of beer cost upwards of $5-8! When you consider that it cost ~$40/person just to get in the gates, these prices were absurd for this type of showcase. To make matters worse, many of the patrons were complaining about this hidden cost. So while the idea of a brewery festival brought in lots of people to support the cause including ourselves, I think BEERFEST Austin may need to rethink their strategy next year, since we, and many others were in and out of the gate within two hours.
